Jerri SweetFour spectacular decades of teaching later, Jerri still brings the incredible lightness of ballet to her students. The loyalty of her students speaks volumes about her ability to engage, challenge and reward those who seek to unlock the pleasures of the balletic arts. From her humble beginnings in the dancing schools of Colorado, her resume has grown to include the venerated names of artist/teachers Milenko Banovitch, Jeffrey Marc Rockland, Mary Funk, Jeff Woodman, Howard Canode, Linda Murray and Jeanette Triomphe. Her extensive performance resume includes demanding roles in such varied classics as “Mountain Ballad”, “Oklahoma” and “The Nutcracker.”
Her choreography has been heralded as both intuitive and edgy. Pushing the envelope with hybrid choreography of jazz, ballet and special effects brought Jerri note in such publications as Colorado Dance Alliance and Panorama. Jerri moved to the Kirkland area in 1995 and began studying with the Pacific Northwest Ballet. The circle became unbroken in 1998 when Jerri became the Ballet Mistress at THDS and now at KDC. Jerri teaches ballet (Russian and Cecchetti methods) to all ages and is available for private lessons. |
