Dancing ballet results in greater strength, stamina, and a healthier posture. If you're new to dancing, this is a great place to start! Ballet provides a solid foundation for all other forms of dance. All ballet classes begin with the support of the barre and move to more challenging movements in the center. Movements progress from basic to advanced, slow to fast, and small to large.

Jazz is known as the one, true American form of dance. An artistic style defined by clean, sharp lines, Jazz can take on many variations, including Pop, Funk, Lyrical, and Broadway. All jazz classes begin with a warm-up, contain an across-the-floor segment, and conclude with a combination.
- Beginning jazz at KDC introduces basic body positions and dance steps, focusing on the feet, legs, and arms. Students focus on learning proper body alignment and execution of dynamic movements.
- Intermediate classes add turns, jumps, leaps, and other challenging dance steps to all segments of the class.
- Advanced jazz focuses on the combination/dance routine, and is where experienced dancers can continue to perfect their individual style, execution, and technique.
Lyrical Jazz is a combination of jazz and ballet and is an interpretation of the emotions that the lyrics of a song represent. This class is geared towards the dancer that already has a comprehensive knowledge of jazz movements. Dancers are given the basic choreography at a quick pace and then allowed to expand depending on their emotional involvement with the music. Freedom of personal movement, flow, and interpretation of the lyrics are accepted and nurtured. Choreography and music choice can range from light and fluid to heavy and hard-hitting.
- Beginning lyrical consists of experimenting with fluid movements and strengthening awareness of emotional interpretation of lyrics.
- Intermediate/Advanced classes are for experienced dancers who would like to continue to strengthen their lyrical musicality.
Contemporary is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, and ballet. Dancers strive to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movements utilizing the natural movement of their body to express personal style and technique. Contemporary dance is often done in bare feet and can be performed to diverse styles of music. Contemporary style was created to give dancers the freedom of movement to express their innermost feelings.
- Our intermediate class is geared toward more experienced dancers, but all levels are welcome to join. A basic understanding of jazz, lyrical, or ballet techniques is helpful, but a passion for movement and expression is a must. Get what you get, leave the rest, and experience personal growth.
Build strength and flexibility while learning circus-based aerial dance! This Open Level class introduces beginners to movement, skills, and basic choreography on dance trapeze (low, single-point), fabric (silks), and fabric sling. Intermediate students add more complex moves, drops, and choreographic sequences. Aerial dance in this class covers some contact with the floor while on the apparatus, but most movement is done in the air. In addition to being fun exercise, other benefits include building upper body strength, developing your core, and learning to move through space.
