Patty Leverett has a lifelong connection to music, dance and drama. An upbringing with a musician father and subsequent training in flute, piccolo and piano helped her to understand and feel the variety of rhythms, tempos and moods within music. Following early training in jazz, tap and ballet, Ms. Leverett studied modern, ballroom, folk and ethnic dance. Since 1986, after seeing the Broadway hit shows "Tango Argentino" and then "Forever Tango", she has studied and danced tango locally, across the U.S. and in Buenos Aires with many of the recognized masters.

Kevin Rossio has a varied musical background in classical and jazz - on violin, cello and saxophone - and a deep interest in theater and the arts. He credits his studies in Metallurgical Engineering with helping him understand and decipher the structure of tango, while his love of art and movement help refine beauty of line, expression, sensitivity, composition and flow within the dance . . . of tango.

LEVERETT & ROSSIO have been dancing, studying, performing and teaching tango together for over 3 years (collectively for 20 years). In tango classes, they both emphasize - good partner connection and posture, grounding, sensitive lead and follow skills, musicality, clean technique, styling and step patterns appropriate to each level. They encourage partner sharing of the dance through musical pauses and embellishment windows. Patty & Kevin credit much of their styling and inspiration to maestros Nito & Elba, Carlos & Alicia, Gavito & Marcella, Miriam & Hugo, Fernanda & Guillermo, Fabian & Carolina, Julio & Corinna, Gustavo & Giselle and now Gloria & Eduardo!! Leverett & Rossio have developed an elegantly expressive dance style which honors the refinement of sensitive partnering and individuality, while embracing the beauty, sensuality and passion of tango music.

As co artistic directors and dancers of a creative new group - T A N G O F U S I O N - Leverett & Rossio "fuse" the tango they love with other dance, music and theater arts! Tango can be danced to solo guitar or bandoneon, a full ensemble, or even non tango music (pop, jazz, classical...). Leverett & Rossio dance interpretive tango that fits well at casual to swanky events - garden parties, art festivals, dinners, weddings to professional stage shows.
