Announcing Kody Friedrich...

We are pleased to welcome Kody to our instructor family. She began her instruction with the late Eileen O'Doherty and Northwest Irish Dancers. She has also briefly studied with Michelle Bergen of New York. Most recently, she has studied with Tony Comerford. Kody competes both locally and regionally in solos and team competitions. In 2003, she formed Bradan Irish Dancers and teaches in Seattle and Bremerton. She performs regularly and has been seen on stage with the world renowned group The Chieftains; as well as local groups including The Suffering Gaels, the Jamie Laval Trio, Town Crier and Setanta. She has also been seen in the independent film "G-Sale." When she's not competing or choreographing, Kody can be found preparing for her TCRG exams -- the Irish Dance instructor certification from the Irish Dance Comission in Dublin, Ireland.

Regular open level Irish classes will begin on Saturday, January 8th, 2005 from 9-10am.

Rhonda Matson will be teaching an Open Level Latin Dancing class at Kirkland Dance Center on Wednesday evenings from 8:00pm to 9:00pm. No partner necessary! So get out those dancing shoes and come join the fun!

KDC Adult Students Qualify for National Competition

Congratulations AGAIN to Nine Ladies Dancing, Jacqueline Beauchere, Didi Gong, Tara Maloney, Ann McLean, Alison Pascone, Chiaki Tanaka, Megan Tedesco, Junko Yamada who competed and won at the International Dance Challenge Seattle Regional Dance Competition on March 13, 2004 in Burien. The Ladies won Gold Champion (first place), Jazz, Age 30-39, Gold Champion (first place), Lyrical, Age 30-39 Sterling Silver Champion (high second place), Ballet, Age 30-39 and the Judge’s Special “Timeless and Ageless” Award for outstanding jazz performance, specialty ribbon. These wins qualify the Ladies for National Competition, July 30-August 1, 2004, Las Vegas, NV, which the group is very excited to attend!

Additional Congratulations go to Kristine Haroldson, who won Sterling Silver Champion (high second place) for her Lyrical Solo: Age 13-14! Kristine also qualifies for National Competition in Las Vegas, NV.
