Class Descriptions:

Tap:   Make music with your feet!   Tap teaches students basic rhythmic footwork set to a variety of musical styles.

Jazz: Develop skills for leaps, turns, and dance combinations set to upbeat, popular music while focusing on flexibility and control.

Hip-Hop: Move to a "funkier" form of jazz, set to popular music.   It is upbeat and a lot of fun!

Cheer: Learn the basics of cheerleading, from jumps, to arm motions, to basic cheers and chants and work on short dances that incorporate cheer moves.

Character Jazz:   Improve performance skills and style with character jazz, a combination of jazz choreography and acting.

Baton: Learn the basics of baton twirling; from how to hold the baton to pinwheels, figure eights, and simples tosses.   Students are required to provide their own baton.   Information about purchasing batons is available upon registration.

Ballet: Learn poise, grace and coordination in a fun and caring environment.

Irish: Think Riverdance! Learn a highly distinctive form of tap dance that evolved in Ireland. It features complex foot and legwork, coupled with a straight back and arms held by the sides.

Creative Movement - Composition:   Explore tools and skills that can be used to make dance phrases and larger dances through creative movement. Generate movement that is uniquely your own – not choreographed from ballet or jazz.

Modern Dance: M ove your body, incorporating both big and detailed movements with emphasis in body alignment, breath, momentum and the core to build a stronger and more efficient dancer!
