Lauryn ChavezLauryn has been a dancer her whole life training with the San Francisco Art Foundation as a child, learning Modern and dabbling in Tap, African, and Capoeira. She learned Hip-Hop, the culture and dance styles from the streets of San Francisco. After relocating to Kirkland as a teenager, Lauryn continued her passion creating the dance team at Lake Washington High School and becoming director/teacher/coach/choreographer at Holy Names Academy in Seattle and ran their program for 3 years. Lauryn has performed in countless shows around Seattle and various dance companies.
KDC is close to Lauryn’s heart, since it was one of the first dance studios she taught at when KDC first opened. Lauryn started having children in 2007 and took a hiatus from dancing, certain her dance career was over. However, she slowly eased her way back into dance in 2017 frustrated, out of shape, and not understanding why her body didn’t move the way it used to. Lauryn knows first hand that learning to dance for the first time or starting over again takes time, patience, and grace. Lauryn is happily married, mother to 3 girls, owns her own company OMT Styling as a fashion consultant, and is an avid gardener. |
