Tony grew up in Toronto, Canada, and has always loved to dance. While
in college he was the choreographer for the annual charity fashion/dance show put together by students of Queen’s University,
and was also a proud member of the Queen’s University Dance Team. His passion for dance never let up, and when he moved
to Seattle, was able to find people with similar passions to continue his dance career.
To date Tony has been a member of the Koncrete dance company, male
member of the KittyKats dance company, and is currently a hip hop teacher at Kirkland Dance Center. Tony’s style is
hip hop with a jazzy twist. He loves to utilize a wide variety of music, and has dabbled in styles of contemporary hip hop,
old school hip hop, Asian pop, and bhangra. He is currently working at a leading software company in the Greater Seattle area
and is an aspiring massage therapist.
“Dancing is about feelings. You have to feel the music, and
the body will naturally move to the beat. The more you flow with the music, the more variations you will see in your movements
and that is when magic happens” – Tony Kao
