***NEWS***

As you may have already heard, So You Think You Can Dance's executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe has made a call to the country to get people moving by declaring Saturday, July 31st, 2010 National Dance Day.  "NATIONAL DANCE DAY is a grassroots initiative that encourages the nation, young and old, to move! Individuals, families, organizations and communities from across the nation come together through their creative expression in dance. Any style of dance is welcome and imagination is recommended in order to get the most out of this celebratory day."  He says that the goal is to "prove that the 'Power of Dance' can MOVE an entire Country!"

So, come celebrate National Dance Day at Kirkland Dance Center!!  Long-time KDC instructor Jacqueline Beauchere will teach a special, two-hour Dance & Technique Class in honor of this special day.  The class is open to teens and adults of all skill levels.  Join us on Saturday, July 31 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in the KDC Front Studio.  The class will consist of a ballet/jazz barre and center warm-up; exercises to build strength and increase flexibility; across-the-floor drills, including turns, leaps and progressions, as well as a beginner-level Broadway Jazz combination.  The class fee is $12.00 per person per hour, or two “punches” on your KDC class card.  (Sorry, no monthly unlimited cards will be accepted for this special event.)  Introduce a friend, family member or colleague to KDC by bringing them along because … it’s never too late to start dancing!!
